Capen House – Winter Park

With the grand re-opening of the historic Capen House back in October 2015, this location is now a firm favorite for destination and locals alike for wedding packages for lakeside ceremonies! Weddings can take place out on the romantic dock or up on the outdoor patio of Capen House surrounded by the beautiful flowers and greenery of the Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens. The winding pathways and diverse flora creates the perfect place for both group and romantic photographs after the ceremony.

Capen House was originally built in 1885 across Lake Osceola from its current resting spot. A few years back, it was slated to be torn down, taking all of its history with it. But instead of letting it be demolished, the Winter Park community decided to conserve it and moved it, as two halves, on large barges across 1000 meters of Lake Osceola back in December of 2013. Now the house has been restored to its former glory and proudly sits in its new home, as another little piece of Winter Park history.
