First Congregational Church of Winter Park ceremony followed by Blu on the Avenue Reception

The Winter Park wedding of Leila and Derrick took place at the beautiful First Congregational Church, surrounded by their closest family and friends. Their ceremony was full of warmth and joy, just like the couple themselves.

They booked their wedding package with us at Winter Park Wedding Company, and also celebrated their reception at the wonderful Blu on the Avenue event space—perfect for an elegant yet relaxed gathering right in the heart of Winter Park.

Leila and Derrick’s love story began in July 2023 when they met on the dating app Bumble. Their first date? Right here in Winter Park, where they instantly connected over shared laughs and conversation. Just a few months later, Derrick proposed during a romantic evening in St. Augustine at the magical Nights of Lights festival—an unforgettable backdrop filled with twinkling lights and holiday charm.

After saying “I do,” the couple spent their wedding night at the lovely Alfond Inn, a beautiful boutique hotel in Winter Park. For their honeymoon, they headed west to soak up the sun and sand at Clearwater Beach, one of Florida’s most beautiful coastal spots.

In their everyday life, Leila and Derrick love going to the movies and taking walks with their adorable dachshund, Gunter. Their relationship is full of fun, comfort, and sweet everyday moments—just like their wedding day.
