Love Story – Tonya and David

Some love stories are simply meant to be — and Tonya and David’s story is one that warms the heart and reminds us of the true meaning of connection and destiny.

The couple were married on September 6th at the First Congregational Church of Winter Park, Florida, surrounded by family, friends, and a lifetime of gratitude for how fate brought them together.

Their journey began over fourteen years ago with a single Facebook post.  The only change is My dad’s best friend’s wife was the one that shared a post from David’s cousin
David’s cousin had shared that he was in need of a kidney donor. By pure chance, Tonya, who saw the post through a family connection — her father’s best friend’s wife shared a post from David’s cousin — decided to see if she could help.

She turned out to be a perfect match. Tonya donated one of her kidneys to David, and through that extraordinary act of compassion, a beautiful love story began.

The two have now been together for thirteen years, their relationship a living testament to love, gratitude, and second chances.

In true romantic fashion, David proposed to Tonya on her birthday at Disney’s Margaritaville Resort — a moment filled with joy and emotion, symbolizing the full circle of their incredible journey together.

Their wedding day was filled with elegance and meaning. The ceremony at the First Congregational Church of Winter Park was followed by a fairytale moment — a horse and carriage ride arranged by our team at Winter Park Wedding Company.  This carriage ride took  them to their reception at the University Club of Winter Park.

The atmosphere was joyful, elegant, and filled with love — a true reflection of their bond.

For their honeymoon, Tonya and David are planning a relaxing week at the beach, a fitting escape for a couple who loves the ocean, sunshine, and time spent together.

They also share a love for Disney adventures, dining out, exploring new bakeries, and simply enjoying life’s sweet moments side by side.

Their story is proof that love can appear in the most unexpected ways — and that kindness has a way of bringing hearts together forever.
