Love Story – Aderonke and Patrick

A Beautiful Nigerian-American Wedding at First Congregational Church & Winter Park Farmers' Market

February brought us one of the most joyful and colourful weddings we’ve had the pleasure of coordinating at Winter Park Hochzeitsgesellschaft. Bringing together two families, two cultures, and years of love, this beautiful celebration perfectly reflected the couple’s personalities and the wonderful community that surrounded them.

The groom, Pat, is American, while his bride, Ronke, born in Boston with Nigerian parents. Their wedding was a beautiful blend of traditions, family, and vibrant celebration that created an unforgettable day for everyone involved.

Their Story

Pat and Ronke met in Boston, Massachusetts, where their relationship began over six and a half years ago. Since then, they have built a wonderful life together, sharing a love of spending time outdoors with their beloved dog, Jessi, travelling, cooking and hiking together.

When it came time to propose, Pat chose an intimate and heartfelt moment. While the two of them were opening Christmas presents together in their apartment, he surprised Ronke with a proposal that she will never forget.

Sometimes the most meaningful moments happen in the simplest settings, and this proposal perfectly reflected their relationship.

A Beautiful Winter Park Wedding Ceremony

The couple exchanged their vows at the historic Erste Kongregationskirche von Winter Park, one of Central Florida’s most iconic churches for weddings.

The church provided a timeless and elegant setting for family and friends to witness the beginning of their next chapter together. With its beautiful architecture, warm atmosphere, and convenient location just minutes from Park Avenue, it remains one of our favourite ceremony venues in Winter Park.

Our team coordinated every aspect of the ceremony, ensuring vendors, family members, and guests were all in the right place at the right time, allowing Pat and Ronke to simply enjoy every moment.

Reception at the Winter Park Farmers' Market

Following the ceremony, guests made the short journey to the Winter Park Farmers’ Market, one of the area’s most popular reception venues.

Originally built as a historic train depot, the Farmers’ Market combines rustic charm with modern convenience and offers a wonderful space for couples looking for a relaxed yet elegant reception in the heart of Winter Park.

The evening was filled with laughter, wonderful food, heartfelt speeches, and plenty of dancing as both families celebrated together.

The colourful influence of Ronke’s Nigerian heritage brought additional energy and excitement to the reception, creating a celebration that reflected both families beautifully.

Staying at the Park Plaza Hotel

For their wedding weekend, Pat and Ronke chose the charming Park Plaza Hotel on historic Park Avenue.

As Winter Park’s only boutique hotel located directly on Park Avenue, it provided the perfect location for getting ready, relaxing before the ceremony, and enjoying everything that Winter Park has to offer within walking distance.

Its historic charm and central location make it an excellent choice for destination wedding couples and their guests.

Coordinating Every Detail

Winter Park Wedding Company was honoured to coordinate both the ceremony and reception for Pat and Ronke’s special day.

From overseeing vendor arrivals and ceremony logistics to managing the reception timeline, our goal was to ensure everything flowed seamlessly so the couple and their families could simply enjoy the celebration.

Watching two cultures come together in such a joyful way is always a privilege, and this wedding was a wonderful reminder that every love story is unique.

Pat and Ronke, thank you for allowing us to be part of your beautiful wedding day. We wish you both a lifetime of happiness and many more adventures with Jessi by your side.
